The Governor has issued Executive Order 2020-73 (COVID-19 Executive Order No. 69) concerning COVID and Tier 3 Mitigation. This order includes an exemption from the Tier 3 Mitigation for the December 1, 2020 Township Caucuses and the December 2, 2020 Multi-Township Caucuses. (Click on the link at the end of the memo and reference Executive Order Number 4, Exemptions (d).)
Please feel free to share this information with your political party leaders who are conducting the party caucuses in your township.
Please note that statewide public health-related procedures are recommended to be followed for these caucuses. Please see the Illinois Department of Public Health's Guidance for preventing the spread of COVID-19 in election polling locations available at: https://dph.illinois.gov/2020election
Please also note that nothing in this Executive Order prohibits caucuses from being held virtually; to convene the caucus outdoors; and the caucuses must adhere to all Social Distancing Requirements. This would include:
1.) Designating six-foot distances to maintain appropriate distance.
2.) Having hand sanitizer readily available
3.) Providing face coverings but not mandated
