October 18, 2021 Meeting Notes
Peotone Township Regular Meeting
Supervisor Younker called the January meeting of Peotone Township to order at 7:00 P.M. on October 18, 2021.
Clerk Heisner led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Roll Call indicated all were present except Trustee Morgan, Trustee Heatherwick and Assessor Latham.
The minutes of the September 20, 2021 meeting were presented. A motion to accept the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Swartz and was seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Visitor in attendance, future assessor Virginia Hamann reported a representative for the AMS assessor’s system would be at our next meeting.
The Town Fund Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road District Funds Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Swartz. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Financial Summary Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, and Younker. Motion carried unanimously..
The Town Fund bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road & Bridge, Hard Road and Equipment Funds bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Under Additions to the Agenda; there were none.
Under Planning & Zoning, there was no business.
The following correspondence was received:
- Letter from TOIRMA highlighting our insurance coverage for “Cyber Liability Coverage”.
- Communications from Will County Supervisor of Assessments concerning Board of Review Portal for appeals of $100,000 or more.
- TOIRMA annual report and survey. Supervisor Younker completed and returned.
- Will County Center for Community Concerns asking for donation.
- Letter from Illinois State Archives, Robert Boots, with our approved application for the authority to proceed with the disposal of township records.
Old business on the agenda. 2021 Annual Financial Report FY ending 3/31/20 has been submitted to the state and county.
Under New Business, Supervisor Younker made a motion to approve donations to Helping Hands ($500), American Legion – Toys for Tots ($1000), Senior Services for Will County ($1000) and Will County Center for Community Concerns ($1000). Motion was seconded by Trustee Swartz. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
No assessor’s report.
Road Commissioner Hack reported that he was getting ready for the floor replacement.
Being no other reports or comments from the Board, a motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Schubbe at 7:25 P.M. The motion was unanimously accepted.
