November 15, 2021 Meeting Notes
Peotone Township Regular Meeting
Supervisor Younker called the November meeting of Peotone Township to order at 7:00 P.M. on November 15, 2021.
Supervisor Younker led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Roll Call indicated all were present except Assessor Latham
The minutes of the October 18, 2021 meeting were presented. A motion to accept the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Swartz and was seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The visitor in attendance, Virginia Hamman, Helen Heisner and Angela Grzeskowiak.
The Town Fund Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road District Funds Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Morgan. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Financial Summary Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously..
The Town Fund bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Morgan. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road & Bridge, Hard Road and Equipment Funds bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
No new additions to the Agenda.
Under Planning & Zoning, there was no business.
The following correspondence was received:
- Letter and copy of 2021 -2022 Membership Directory for contractors.
- IGA, between Will County and Peotone Township for participation in the Will County Mobility Management Project.
- Will County Circuit Clerk letter and check for $50 for fines collected.
- Village of Peotone invitation to November 23 meeting to review the effectiveness and status of the redevelopment project areas under TIF districts.
- PACE letter and proposed budget brochure.
No Old Business to discuss.
Under New Business, Jerry Marquart from JRM Consulting, Inc. gave a presentation on a computer program for the assessor’s office.
A motion to accept Ordinance #2-21 Road District Tax Levy Ordinance was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion to accept Ordinance #1-21 Township Tax Levy Ordinance was made by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Trustee Younker. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously. Both Levies were discussed in detail at the October meeting.
A motion to renew the IGA between Peotone Township and Will County Mobility Management Project was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Assessor Latham was absent.
Road Commissioner Hack reported that all snow equipment is ready for the winter season. Finishing Kennedy Road work and lining the blacktops.
Being no other reports or comments from the Board, a motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick at 8:06 P.M. The motion was unanimously accepted.
