Meeting Notes from April 12, 2022 Annual Meeting
MINUTES of the 2022 PEOTONE TOWNSHIP ANNUAL MEETING
April 12, 2022
Clerk Kent Heisner called the Annual Town Meeting of Peotone Township to order at 7:00 P.M. on April 12, 2022. Gene Younker led the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 10 Peotone Township residents in attendance.
Clerk Heisner called for nominations for Moderator. Grant Heatherwick nominated Dan Younker for Moderator and Ron Schubbe seconded it. After no other nominations were received from the floor, Grant Heatherwick moved to close nominations and call for a unanimous ballot and Ron Schubbe seconded that. Clerk Heisner called for a unanimous ballot to elect Dan Younker to be Moderator and it was so approved.
Clerk Heisner administered the Oath of Moderator to Dan Younker.
Moderator Dan Younker requested a motion to accept the agenda. It was moved by Randy Swartz and seconded by Virginia Hamann. Motion carried unanimously.
The minutes of the April 13, 2021 Annual Meeting were enthusiastically read by Clerk Heisner. A motion was made by Grant Heatherwick and seconded by Ron Schubbe to accept the minutes of the April 13, 2021 meeting as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
A report of the Road and Bridge Fund read by Clerk Heisner showed funds on hand at the beginning of the fiscal year: $290,274.12. The amount received from all sources: $108,093.25 The amount expended for all purposes: $84,638.79. Funds on hand at the end of the fiscal year: $313,728.58.
A report of the Hard Road Fund read by Clerk Heisner showed funds on hand at the beginning of the fiscal year: $176,675.71. The amount received from all sources: $250,310.15. The amount expended for all purposes: $378,568.19. Funds on hand at the end of the fiscal year: $48,408.67.
A report of the Equipment and Building Fund read by Clerk Heisner showed funds on hand at the beginning of the fiscal year: $103,906.51. The amount received from all sources: $11,024.88. The amount expended for all purposes: $19,534.82. Funds on hand at the end of the fiscal year: $95,396.57.
A report of the Town Fund showed funds on hand at the beginning of the fiscal year: $105,187.06. The amount received from all sources: $137,328.35. The amount expended for all purposes: $125,778.68. Funds on hand at the end of the fiscal year: $116,736.73.
A report of the General Assistance Fund showed funds on hand at the beginning of the fiscal year: $6,097.22. The amount received from all sources: $2.39. The amount expended for all purposes: $0.00. Funds on hand at the end of the fiscal year: $6099.61.
A motion was made by Ron Schubbe and seconded by John Hack to accept all the financial reports listed above. Motion carried unanimously.
Old Business to report. Clerk Heisner reported on the audit was completed by GW & Associates, P.C. in August of 2021.
There was no New Business to report.
Moderator Dan Younker requested a motion to set the date & time of the 2023 Annual Township Meeting on April 11, 2023 at 7:00 PM. Grant Heatherwick so moved and Ron Schubbe seconded that motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Being no other business or reports to come before this meeting, a motion to adjourn was made by Randy Swartz and seconded by John Hack. The annual meeting was adjourned at 7:17 P.M. on April 12, 2022.
