First Community Bank was contacted to provide a bid and replied with the following letter;
First Community Bank and Trust (the “Bank”) has always prided itself on offering quality products and excellent service to individuals, businesses, and taxing districts that it serves. Per a conversation with the Peotone Township Supervisor, Gene Younker, the bank is declining to bid at this time based on the following facts:
- The bank does not offer the terms requested by Peotone Township.
- The Township is not receptive to the bank’s approach regarding insurance coverage on funds in excess of $250,000.00.
Supervisor Younker and I have mutually agreed to contact each other should either position change.
