January 22, 2019 Meeting Notes
Peotone Township Regular Meeting
Supervisor Younker called the September meeting of Peotone Township to order at 7:00 P.M. on January 22, 2019.
Pat Latham led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Roll Call indicated all were present.
The minutes of the December 17, 2018 meeting were presented. A motion to accept the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Swartz and was seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
No visitors were in attendance.
The Town Fund Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road District Funds Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Swartz. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Financial Summary Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Morgan. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously..
The Town Fund bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Morgan. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road & Bridge, Hard Road and Equipment Funds bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Morgan. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Under Additions to the Agenda, nothing was added.
Under Planning & Zoning, there was no business.
The following correspondence was received:
- Supervisor Younker informed us that we received the Township and Road District Levies signed by the Will County Clerk.
- Application for Peotone Chamber of Commerce. Supervisor Younker submitted it.
- Letter from Mike and Pam Rickson, 8617 W Eagle Lake Rd., expressing concerns about snow and debris being dumped in the road ditch by their property. Clerk Heisner will prepare a letter to be sent to owner of 8630 W. Eagle lake Rd., expressing our concerns .
- FOIA requests from Jim Bowden and Deb Swidergal. Documents they requested have been delivered to them.
- Letter from TOI outlining the 2019 Township Government Education Network.
- Thank you letter from Peotone American Legion for our contribution to their Christmas gift program. Thirty-nine children benefited from their program.
- Letter from Will County Clerk about the upcoming April 2, 2019 Consolidated Election with a $75 check for use of our building on November 6th
- Letter from AT&T with a demand for damages. Road Commissioner Hack said there were no damages.
- A copy of Third party Collateralized Municipal Bank Deposits (BNY Mellon Bank) on behalf by First Midwest Bank from Jan. 15 meeting Supervisor Younker held with Jim Bowden (FOIA Request) , Susan Wade and Karen Bettenhausen of 1st
- TOIRMA Annual Renewal Survey for 2019. Supervisor Younker and Road Commissioner Hack will complete and return.
- Letter from State of Illinois confirming receipt of township’s FY 2018 AFR.
No Old Business.
Under New Business, Supervisor Younker asked Assessor Latham for her budget request for the upcoming fiscal year. Assessor Latham said there were no charges in her budget request from previous the year. There is however a possibility we may need to replace her current laptop computer.
Assessor’s report, Pat Latham expressed concerns with the new timesheet’s for employees. The board assured Assessor Latham we need to complete them as intended. The board recently updated the worksheets to provide more complete information because of recent FOIA requests. Because of these FOIA requests Road Commissioner Hack was also asked to provide future road budget concerns and complete more detailed employee worksheets.
Road Commissioner Hack reported that snowplowing was being done as needed.
Being no other reports or comments from the Board, a motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Morgan at 8:20 P.M. The motion was unanimously accepted.
