February 17, 2020 Meeting Notes
Peotone Township Regular Meeting
Supervisor Younker called the September meeting of Peotone Township to order at 7:00 P.M. on February 17, 2020.
Randy Swartz led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Roll Call indicated all were present except Assessor Latham.
The minutes of the January 20, 2020 meeting were presented. A motion to accept the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Morgan and was seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Three visitors were in attendance. Jim Bowden distributed some information to the board members. Anna Rosenberg mentioned there are scholarships available through the American Legion Auxiliary.
The Town Fund Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road District Funds Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Swartz. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Financial Summary Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Morgan. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Town Fund bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Morgan. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road & Bridge, Hard Road and Equipment Funds bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Morgan. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Under Additions to the Agenda, Supervisor Younker added to old business our upcoming meeting with Cheri Cameron, Records Archivist, Illinois State Archives, Records Management Section
Under Planning & Zoning, there was no business.
The following correspondence was received:
- Peotone Public Library Newsletter.
- Workforce Center of Will County – March events schedule. Posted on bulletin board.
- Martin Whalen Office Supply letter for update on tax-exempt status.
- Letter from Will County Center for Community Concerns asking for a contribution to their program.
- Letter from Will County Forrest Preserve concerning bicycle pathways.
- Letter confirming upcoming meeting 2/20/20 with Cheri Cameron, Records Archivist, Illinois State Archives, Records Management Section.
Under Old Business, Supervisor Younker confirmed that everybody should be in attendance for upcoming meeting 2/20/20, 10am with Cheri Cameron, Records Archivist, Illinois State Archives, Records Management Section .
New Business, Supervisor Younker mailed letters to local banks asking for bids for the next fiscal year.
Assessor’s report, Trustee Swartz reported that a new laptop computer and external hard drive was purchased for use by the assessor’s office.
Road Commissioner Hack reported that is bidding out summer work and gravel.
Being no other reports or comments from the Board, a motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick at 7:20 P.M. The motion was unanimously accepted.
