December 21, 2020 Meeting Notes
Peotone Township Regular Meeting
Supervisor Younker called the December meeting of Peotone Township to order at 7:00 P.M. on December 21, 2020.
Kent Heisner led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Roll Call indicated Trustee Swartz, Assessor Latham and Road Commissioner Hack were absent.
The minutes of the November 16, 2020 meeting were presented. A motion to accept the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Schubbe and was seconded by Trustee Morgan. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Virginia Hamann was a visitor in attendance.
The Town Fund Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road District Funds Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Financial Summary Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Town Fund bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road & Bridge, Hard Road and Equipment Funds bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Under Additions to the Agenda, nothing was added.
Under Planning & Zoning, there was no business.
The following correspondence was received:
- Will County Board of Review Letter, “Certification of Status of Exempt Property” for township property (#17-20-26-400-010)
- Peotone Library monthly letter.
- Tax levy documents returned from Will County Clerk.
- Letter from IESD concerning unemployment claim filed for Trustee Schubbe. This was a fraudulent claim. Trustee Schubbe will follow up with Attorney Tongren to get advice on further action.
Under Old Business, Supervisor Younker updated us our need to get together to sort records we need to gather for state approved destruction. We also need to try to schedule our 2020 annual meeting sometime in February.
No New Business was presented.
Assessor Latham was not present to submit a report.
Road Commissioner Hack was not present to submit a report.
Being no other reports from the Board, a motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Schubbe at 7:25 P.M. The motion was unanimously accepted.
