December 17, 2018 Meeting Notes
Peotone Township Regular Meeting
Supervisor Younker called the December meeting of Peotone Township to order at 7:00 P.M. on December 17, 2018.
Ron Schubbe led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Roll Call indicated all were present except Trustee Morgan.
The minutes of the November 19, 2018 meeting were presented. A motion to accept the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Swartz and was seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
There were no visitors were in attendance.
The Town Fund Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously..
The Road District Funds Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Swartz. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Financial Summary Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Town Fund bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road & Bridge, Hard Road and Equipment Funds bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Under Additions to the Agenda, nothing was added.
Under Planning & Zoning, there was no business.
The following correspondence was received:
- Received a copy of the Will County Senior Services Newsletter.
- TORMIA Building Evaluation update (12/3/2018) - Building increased from 1,207,800 to $1,344,843 Replacement cost. Salt Shed increased from $99,000 to $110,900 (RC)
- South Suburban Family Shelter Donation Request.
- CASA 2018 Annual Report
Under Old Business, a motion to adopt Illinois Public Act 100-0983 (Clerk Attest, effective Jan. 1, 2019) was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Swartz. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously. A motion to adopt the Work Documentation Form created by Clerk/FOIA Officer Heisner was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. The creation of this Work Documentation Form was discussed at the November meeting and Clerk Heisner created this document under the guidelines set by the trustees. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Under New Business, a motion to accept Amended Ordinance #9-18 Road District Tax Levy Ordinance was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously. A motion to accept Amended Ordinance #10-18 Township Tax Levy Ordinance was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously. Both Levies were discussed in detail at the October meeting.
Assessor Latham reported that the new county computer system was holding up her current work. She is waiting for the latest homestead exemption list and recent Board of Review results are not back.
Road Commissioner Hack reported that all snowplow equipment has been installed and is ready for the winter season. They will continue to grade roads when possible preparing them for winter.
Being no other reports or comments from the Board, a motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Schubbe at 7:51 P.M. The motion was unanimously accepted.
