August 15, 2022 Meeting Notes

Peotone Township Regular Meeting

Supervisor Younker called the July meeting of Peotone Township to order at 7:00 P.M. on August 15, 2022.

Jim Morgan led the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Roll Call indicated all were present.

The minutes of the July 18, 2022 meeting were presented. A motion to accept the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Morgan and was seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker.  Motion carried unanimously.

No visitors in attendance.

The Town Fund Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.

The Road District Funds Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Swartz. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.

The Financial Summary Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Morgan. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.

The Town Fund bills were then submitted.  A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Morgan. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.

The Road & Bridge, Hard Road and Equipment Funds bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Morgan. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.

The Building and Equipment Funds bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.

No additions to the Agenda.

Under Planning & Zoning, there was no business.

The following correspondence was received:

  • Will County Clerk confirming the election on November 8th with pickup and delivery dates and times.
  • IPWMAN Presentation August 30 @ 9am, Peotone Township Building.
  • Letter from TOI informing us of their 115th Annual Education Conference November 13-15, 2022 in Springfield.

Old Business, Supervisor Younker submitted the township proposal for grant funds from the American Rescue Plan Act Funds.

Dave Jelonek from GW & Associates report on the township AFR he is working on.

New business, Supervisor Younker, updated the board on proposed updates on the office phone and computer from Dura-Tech company.  Some of these updates may be needed to comply with government standards.

Virginia Gates-Hamann, Assessor’s report.  Still updating old files and computer input.  Had some concerns on problems with old files she may need to consult with the township attorney.  She also asked that we update the township website to inform residents who need to meet with her to call and make an appointment. She currently doesn’t have open office hours.

Road Commissioner Hack reported that they are cutting roadsides and finished with tar & chipping. 

Being no other reports or comments from the Board, a motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick at 7:42 P.M. The motion was unanimously accepted.
