September 19, 2022 Meeting Notes
Peotone Township Regular Meeting
Supervisor Younker called September meeting of Peotone Township to order at 7:00 P.M. on September 19, 2022.
Ron Schubbe led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Roll Call indicated all were present except for Trustee Jim Morgan.
The minutes of the August 15, 2022 meeting were presented. A motion to accept the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Swartz and was seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
No visitors in attendance.
The Town Fund Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Swartz. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road District Funds Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Financial Summary Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Town Fund bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road & Bridge and Hard Road Funds bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
No Additions to the Agenda.
Under Planning & Zoning, we got notice from Prairie Solar for proposed future development in our township. Email from Dale Kalman of Caleb Chemical informing us he is moving his company location to, 10919 Wilmington Road, Peotone 60468 and has asked Will County Zoning to change the zoning to I-2.

- TORMA Fall 2022 Newsletter.
- Will County transportation access survey.
- GW & Associates 2022 AFR Report.
- Will County Levy process and tax information notice.
- Request from Peotone Historical Society for use of township meeting room
- IDOT informing us of two permits issued for superload permits granted that will be using our township roads.
- Troy Township invitation to meeting about General Assistance Program Providers.
The old business to be presented for this meeting. Supervisor Younker research state requirements for township phone system, He was told by several sources there are no requirements.
New Business, a motion to approve the FY2022 AFR was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Supervisor Younker report he replied to the Will County transportation access survey and it will be available for citizen input on our website. He also told us the 2022 Levy Process started September 13 and is due in by December 27,2022.
Assessor Gates-Hamann reported her office will continue to see residents by appointment only that are set on the township website. They are continuing to get the office organized. She has had to file several more Senior and Homestead Exemptions that had not been previously been granted in past years.
Road Commissioner Hack reported they are wrapping up summer work and starting to cut roadsides.
Being no other reports or comments from the Board, a motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick at 7:40 P.M. The motion was unanimously accepted.
