January 19, 2021 Meeting Notes
Peotone Township Regular Meeting
Supervisor Younker called the January meeting of Peotone Township to order at 7:00 P.M. on January 19, 2021
Supervisor Younker led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Roll Call indicated all were present except Trustee Morgan and Assessor Latham
The minutes of the December 21, 2020 meeting were presented. A motion to accept the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Swartz and was seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
There were no visitors in attendance.
The Town Fund Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road District Funds Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Swartz. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Financial Summary Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously..
The Town Fund bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road & Bridge, Hard Road and Equipment Funds bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Under Additions to the Agenda; there were none.
Under Planning & Zoning, there was no business.
The following correspondence was received:
- Letter from Village of Peotone inviting us to participate in the “Streetscape Stakeholder Meeting’ January 21.
- Communications from residents having problems contacting Assessor Latham.
- Letter from IDES concerning fraudulent claim they caught.
- Letter from Will County Cares Act concerning Peotone Township residents need for food. Information about Peotone Helping Hands was forwarded to them.
- Survey request from NIU. No response.
- Call by Attorney Tongren to correct fraudulent employment claim made to IDES.
- Heritage FS request for township’s sales tax exemption form.
- Clerk Heisner’s communication with Will County Health Dept. concerning 2020 annual meeting.
- Clerk Heisner’s communication with TOI concerning township caucus expenses.
Under Old Business, dates were set for 2020 Annual Meeting, February 9, 2021 and records sorting for destruction, February 5, 2021.
Under New Business, W-2s for tax year 2020 were distributed. Supervisor Younker reminded the board that budget requests for the 2021 – 2022 fiscal year budget were due today.
No assessor’s report.
Road Commissioner Hack reported that all snow equipment is ready for the winter season. They are now working on equipment maintenance.
Being no other reports or comments from the Board, a motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick at 7:25 P.M. The motion was unanimously accepted.
