February 20, 2023 Meeting Notes
Peotone Township Regular Meeting
Supervisor Gene Younker called the February meeting of Peotone Township Board to order at 7:00 P.M. on February 20, 2023.
Supervisor Younker led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Roll Call indicated all were in attendance.
The minutes of the January 17, 2023 meeting were presented. A motion to accept the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Swartz and was seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following members voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
Visitor in attendance Dean Heisner, did not wish to speak.
The Town Fund Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Trustee Swartz. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Road District Funds Budget Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Heatherwick and seconded by Trustee Schubbe. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Financial Summary Report was submitted. A motion to accept was made by Trustee Swartz and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
The Town Fund bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Schubbe and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker Motion carried unanimously.
The Road & Bridge, Hard Road and Equipment Funds bills were then submitted. A motion to pay these bills was made by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Supervisor Younker. On a roll call vote, the following voted “yes”: Morgan, Schubbe, Swartz, Heatherwick and Younker. Motion carried unanimously.
No additions to the agenda.
The following correspondence was received:
- Supervisor Younker received and completed US Census Boundary & Annexation Survey.
- Contact from former Assessor Terry Lindeman inquiring about his years of service.
- Will County Executive invite to “Zoom” meeting in regards to the Will-Ride program.
- Thank you notes from Helping Hands & Will County Center for Community Concerns.
- Proposal to install new radiant heaters for township garage from Kulacz & Sons.
- TORMA annual renewal packet to be completed by Supervisor & Road Commissioner.
- TOI invite to attend annual Township Lobby Day at Springfield 4/26/23.
Old Business, Supervisor Younker updated us on the request for ARFA funds we submitted.
New Business, Supervisor Younker said he mailed out bank bids forms to Old National and First Community Banks. He and Commissioner Hack will complete the TOIRMA Annual Survey form.
Assessor Gates-Hamann reported she is working on updating records. She likes the working with the new administration at county. She anticipates she may need help with doing field work measuring and inspecting properties this spring and summer.
Road Commissioner Hack reported they getting ready to grade roads and that the heaters in the garage will need to be replaced before next winter.
A motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Trustee Heatherwick at 7:42 P.M. The motion was unanimously accepted.
