Working with Washington/Morton Taxi Service, we are excited to be a part of the Free Senior (65+) Transportation program. Any mobile Washington Township senior resident can schedule transportation within the 61571 zip code free of charge. For more information on this service, refer to the page entitled Free Senior (65+) Transportation or telephone the Township office.
NEW NEW NEW - Disability Paratransit Service is beginning August 1, 2022 for residents of Washington, ages 18 to 59. This new service is provided by CityLift of Peoria and sponsored by Washington Township and the City of Washington. CityLift will transport mobility challenged persons with disabilities to points within the Washington Urban area and to points in East Peoria and Peoria for a very reasonable price. Persons aged 60 and over already have access to similar transportation offered through the Central Illinois Agency on Aging transportation division based in Peoria. Please see the enclosed information, that includes a map of all transit providers in our area with phone numbers, plus a copy of the application that needs to be filled out and returned to the Township in order to ride the CityLift bus.
