ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

There are energy assistance programs available to those who meet certain income guidelines.

LIHEAP- Low Income Heating Assistance Program is an annual assistance program that helps with the high cost of winter heating. PLEASE CALL MCHENRY COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY AT 815.338.7752 TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR LIHEAP.

NICOR Sharing is an annual assistance program that helps with the high cost of winter heating.  This program is for people that do not qualify for LIHEAP and have NICOR as their natural gas provider. Disabled Veterans may receive LIHEAP and NICOR Sharing. PLEASE CALL HEBRON TOWNSHIP AT 815.648-2994 TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT.

SENIORS (65 & OLDER) & DISABLED

Benefit Access Program – Program administered through the State of Illinois that assists Seniors & Disabled with a discount on their license plate sticker and a free ride RTA/META pass. You must be in the income guidelines. 2021 income is used to determine eligibility.

Over income for the Benefit Access? You are still eligible for a Reduced Fare RTA/METRA pass. Please call Hebron Township @ 815.648-2994 to schedule an appointment to apply for pass.

SNAP (food stamps), Medicaid, QMB (assistance with Medicare Part A & B premiums, extra help with insurance). Apply online at www.abe.illinois.gov
