Recycling

Atlanta Township offers a recycling drop-off dumpster for all residents located at the Township building on Arch Street.  While the dumpster is available for all residents, it is primarily for residents living outside the City of Atlanta who do not have residential recycling available or for residents within city limits not able to participate in the recycling service with the weekly garbage pick-up.  Please note the following before putting items in the dumpster:

ITEMS ALLOWED:

Metal and aluminum cans: pie and baking pans, tin cans, steel food containers, EMPTY aerosol cans, lids, metal beverage cans, baking tins, foil and food containers.  ALL ITEMS MUST BE CLEAN OF FOOD RESIDUE

Paper - including newspapers, inserts, labels, magazines, catalogs, paperback books, manila folders, letterhead, notebook paper (no backings), computer paper, envelopes (with or without windows), coupon books, index cards, calendars and brown paper bags

Cardboard - corrugated, shipping boxes, cereal and dry food boxes, shoe boxes, tissue boxes, moving boxes, detergent boxes, soda/beer cartons and papertowel/toilet tissue rolls.  ALL BOXES MUST BE FLATTENED FOR PROPER DISPOSAL AND CLEAN OF FOOD RESIDUE

Plastic bottes, jugs and tubs:  soft drink bottles, milk jugs and detergent bottles.  If the recycling symbol with a #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 is on the item, it is acceptable.


ITEMS NOT ALLOWED:

Styrofoam

Window glass and mirrors

Electronic waste (TV's and computers)

Motor Oil containers

Yard waste

Chemical containers

Shredded paper

Plastic Bags 

Hoses

Glass including ceramics or dishes

Clothes

Food waste

scrap metal

Large items (furniture, wood, propane tanks and electronics)
