Makanda Township

Residents needing relief from extreme temperatures can visit the Makanda Township Fire Station #1 at 5420 Old US Highway 51, Carbondale.  Unless staff need to respond to a fire or medical call, the station is available Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm.  Please bring your own food, water and quiet entertainment.
