Mission Statement: Palatine Township supports citizens within the Township with services authorized by Illinois law including assistance to those in need, support for accurate property assessments, senior services including transportation, and maintenance for roadways in the unincorporated areas. We provide programs and services in a timely, efficient and courteous manner always mindful that the taxpayers of Palatine Township are paying for the services.
As of this time, the following positions are open at Palatine Township.
Transportation Assistant – Part Time – Palatine Township
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional individual to join our team. This position will provide support and administrative support to the Transportation Department in Palatine Township and will work closely with senior and disabled transportation clients. This part time position work schedule is Monday through Friday, hours to be determined.
The ideal candidate will enjoy helping the public as well as maintaining an efficient office environment.
This position offers the opportunity to participate in 457(b) plan and a FSA plan.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Answers calls regarding transportation service and general information
- Acquires necessary information and signs up new clients for Township transportation
- Engages our TMS (Transportation Management System) to plan, dispatch, manage and close out daily route activity
- Regularly communicates with drivers via 2-way radio and electronic messaging
- Tracks and records daily routes including mileage, fuel, time, and fare collection
- Meets and greets any guests that visit the department, assisting with variable requests
- Creates orders for out of Township rides and submits them to Pace Bus contractor
- Responds to client inquires and information requests
- Gathers reporting data for monthly reports for internal and external management
- Monitor driver time off and vacation to optimize daily departmental coverage
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Must participate in mandated DOT and Pace Bus Drug and Alcohol Compliance Program
Special Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
- Participation in employee pool for submission to random drug test, background check
- Current Illinois Driver’s License and willingness to utilize personal automobile occasionally for driver transport
- Multilingual, Spanish, preferred
- Ability to lift 35 lbs. and stand for at least 30 minutes

General Assistance Office
Caseworker
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional individual to join our team. Caseworker position responsibilities will include initial intake, evaluation and qualification for General Assistance and other programs, referral to community services and assistance, caseload management and participation in Township outreach programs and events.
The ideal candidate will enjoy problem solving, helping the public and the opportunity to assist individuals to overcome barriers to a better life.
Full time work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Full time (35 hour per week) position includes benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, IMRF pension system and the opportunity to participate in 457(b) plan and a FSA plan.

Deputy Assessor – Palatine Township Assessor Office
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional individual to join our team. This position will provide support and administrative support to the clients of the Assessors Office in Palatine Township and will work closely with the Cook County Assessor’s Office.
The ideal candidate will enjoy helping the public with the intricacies of the property tax code.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- General Office Support including telephone support
- Ability to deal with difficult people and maintain composure
- Client intake and prescreening including obtaining necessary client documentation
- Data entry while working with clients
- Maintenance of supported programs and databases
- Establish and maintain files
- Communicate with Cook County and all the villages and towns in Palatine Township
Special Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Detail oriented with a focus on getting the job done and not watching the clock
- Ability to work under pressure for long periods of time
- Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods and business communication required

Part-Time Bus Driver
We are seeking skilled and compassionate professional individuals to join our team.
Palatine Township is local government that is closest to the people and provides social services to eight area municipalities. We transport seniors (over 60+) and people with disabilities within the Township.
Knowledge of Palatine streets a plus. This is a great opportunity to serve seniors and disabled passengers.
This part time position is 25 hours per week (must have flexible days and hours)
