Paratransit Bus Driver

Part Time & Full Time

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team!

Palatine Township is local government closest to the people and provides social services to eight area municipalities. We transport seniors (60+) and people with disabilities within the Township. Knowledge of Township area streets a plus.

Requirements:

  • Must have a B CDL License 1 year
  • Full Time 40 hours per week
  • Part Time 20 hours per week, or as needed
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs and stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Random Drug Test and background check
  • Completion of pre-employment physical with satisfactory results

Credentials & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • P Endorsement (or willingness to obtain one)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport clients following Township and Pace protocols
  • Assist passengers in safe boarding and departing
  • Timely communication with office utilizing two-way radio & other technology
  • Ability to operate bus lift equipment, securing riders and assist with packages
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

Full Time

Palatine Township Assistant Administrator

Full Time

This position serves the Township executive management team. Work includes research, planning, coordinating and directing actions on policies and/or projects defined by the Township Administrator and/or Township Board.

Requirements:

  • Capacity to identify/manage multiple projects, programs and services effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of project management, human resources, budgeting and finance, as well as IT management.
  • Skilled in computer systems including Microsoft office software, Quick Books
  • Ability to clearly convey instructions to employees or team. Capable of speaking effectively before groups
  • Ability to read and interpret all types of documents including safety rules and regulations, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to create and edit reports and correspondence from varied source material.
  • Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with elected officials, staff, residents and vendors.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs and stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as needed.

Credentials & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in public administration or related field a plus
  • Four years related experience in an Illinois local government or closely related field.
  • Two to four years supervisory experience preferred

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support IT related issues including contract IT support services, follow-up on IT trouble tickets and ordering
  • Coordinate a comprehensive annual strategic planning process including Township Board retreats, establishing goals and objectives, implementation tracking, and year end assessment.
  • Administer the Township’s risk management program including oversight of the general liability and special liability insurance programs, and track incident reports.
  • Maintain and update Township-wide policies, procedures, forms and documents.
  • Prepare materials for Board meetings including memos, reports, presentations, and schedule of payments
  • Maintain the 5-year Capital Improvement Plan and assist in the implementation of projects
  • Prepare studies, reports, and related information; conduct research and analysis.
  • Provide professional administrative support to the Township Administrator & Supervisor
  • Performs other duties as required for the successful operation of Palatine Township

Salary:

  • From $60,000 Commensurate with experience

Palatine Township Transportation Assistant

Part Time

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional individual to join our team. This position will provide support to the Transportation Department and will work closely with senior and disabled clients.

This part time position work schedule is Monday through Friday, up to 21 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will enjoy helping the public as well as maintaining an efficient office environment.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Random drug test, background check
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Willingness to utilize personal automobile occasionally for driver transport
  • Special consideration will be given to multilingual candidates

  • Effectively communicate with drivers, including 2 way radio

  • Track and record daily routes including mileage, fuel, time, and fare collection

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Engage our TMS (Transportation Management System) to plan, dispatch & manage the team
  • Ensures Township compliance and maintains records for FTA, PACE, IDOT, Village, State and County for buses, drivers, maintenance, safety, stickers, reports, physicals, drug testing, training, etc.
  • Prepares and submits monthly reports to PACE and the Board concerning buses and ridership.
  • Supervises the Transportation Assistant and bus drivers, holding bi-monthly staff meetings
  • Reviews and codes all invoices for transportation service and supports the department budgeting process
  • Serves as Township liaison with PACE
  • Drafts and submits articles for publication in the Township Newsletter.
  • Communicates with drivers via two-way radio regarding scheduling, routing, cancellations, questions, etc.
  • Accurately records rider requests for T.R.I.P. scheduling coordinator
  • Completes any job assignment that may be deemed necessary to fulfill the Township mission

Palatine Township Assessor Office

Deputy Assessor 

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional individual to join our team. This position will provide support and administrative support to the clients of the Assessors Office in Palatine Township and will work closely with the Cook County Assessor’s Office.

The ideal candidate will enjoy helping the public with the intricacies of the property tax code.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General Office Support including telephone support
  • Ability to deal with difficult people and maintain composure
  • Client intake and prescreening including obtaining necessary client documentation
  • Data entry while working with clients
  • Maintenance of supported programs and databases
  • Establish and maintain files
  • Communicate with Cook County and all the villages and towns in Palatine Township

Special Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Detail oriented with a focus on getting the job done and not watching the clock
  • Ability to work under pressure for long periods of time
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods and business communication required
