Rental Assistance

All rental assistance requests are currently being processed through the Emergency Rental Assistance program at RPC. All Champaign county residents in need are encouraged to apply. If you are an Urbana resident and need help applying please reach out to our office at 217-384-4144 or email info@cunninghamtownship.org

Applicants will be required to submit the following:

  1. Photo identification
  2. A copy of your lease (or a letter from your landlord confirming your status as a renter)
  3. A copy of rent ledger from January 2020–present
  4. Copies of ALL your most recent past-due utility bills (power, water, sewer); bills over one-month-old will not be accepted
  5. Proof of income for all household members, such as a copy of Tax Year 2020 Form 1040 as filed with the IRS for your household, or a copy of the last 60 days of income for all household members; if applicable, you must also provide proof that you have received unemployment benefits in the 90 days prior to your application appointment, as well as a printout of weekly Illinois Department of Employment Securities (IDES) payments for a household member for the 90 days prior to your application appointment

Please note that incomplete applications will not be accepted by RPC

You may also deliver your application in person by placing your sealed envelope in the drop box outside the Washington Street entrance at the Brookens Administrative Center or to our office at 205 w Green in Urbana to the mail slot in our office front door or emailed to info@cunninghamtownship.org at any time.  Applications will not be considered complete until all documents are submitted.  Those with questions can email or call 217-384-4144.
