*LIHEAP 2018-19*(Gas/Electric Assistance) Guidelines:

Start Date - October 1, 2018 - For Senior Citizens (age 60 w/ low income) and Disabled drawing Social Security Disability

Start Date - November 1, 2018 - Above are continued and opens up for Families with Children UNDER the age of 6

   - Disconnects and Reconnects open up for all based on income

Start Date - December 1, 2018 Opens up for everyone that is eligible based on amount of income in household

ALL OF THE ABOVE CAN APPLY AT ANY LIHEAP LOCATIONS...

We Make Appointments for TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS ONLY

1. You must call (618) 931-0323 and make an appointment (if we have openings)

   - we service Chouteau, Nameoki, & Granite City Townships

2. The following items you will need for your meeting:  

*Social Security Cards for EVERYONE in household

         *Income Documentation for ALL Income in the household for past 30 days

       (wage dates will be given at making of appointment)

              *Current Ameren Utility Bill - No Disconnect Notices for these appointments

3. Please call if you are unable to be at appointment or have rescheduled with another agency

*Emergency Assistance* (Chouteau Township Residents ONLY) Guidelines:

1. Must have a permanent resident in the township (this excluded motels and campground areas)

2. Must be living a consecutive current 6 months in the township (must have legitimate proof)

3. Cannot be receiving Social Security, Social Security Supplemental Income, Social Security Disability (SSA, SSAD, SSID, SSI)

4. Cannot be a Veteran (need to contact Veteran Affairs (618) 296-4554)

5. Must be living at said address

6. Income must be within poverty levels set by Federal Government

7. Could not have received Emergency/General Assistance in the past 12 months from date of application appointment
