General Assistance Educational Luncheon

Re:           GA Educational Luncheon

On June 14, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm. the Association of General Assistance Caseworkers and the Township Supervisors of Illinois will host an educational luncheon at the Thornton Township Food Assistance Center with presenter Michele Hempel, LCSW.  Michele is a Licensed Social Worker and founder and sole proprietor of Clarity Counseling Center. With over 20 years of experience Michele will present on how to work effectively as caseworkers under stressful circumstances including:

• How to respond to upset clients
• Calming techniques for individuals under stress
• How to handle an individual expressing suicidal ideation

Each session will include a question and answer period regarding how these issues impact General Assistance and Emergency Assistance.
