Assessors - About Us

The Assessor is charged with the responsibility of equitably assessing all real property at one-third (1/3) of its Fair Market Value each year.  By State Statute, each Township must complete a total revaluation of property every four (4) years.  This is known as a General Reassessment.

The Assessor's Office also assists homeowners with several different types of Exemptions.  An exemption is a set amount that is deducted from the Assessed Value.  The exemptions offered are as follows:

  • General Homestead Exemption, or, Residential Owner Occupied Exemption
  • Home Improvement Exemption

The Assessor's Office also assists Senior Citizen's (65 years of age or older) with two additional exemptions:

  • Senior Homestead Exemption
  • Senior Citizen's Assessment Freeze (income based)
