Service is provided for residents 60 years of age or older and/or handicapped persons. This service is provided for Lyons Township residents only for local shopping, doctor and dental appointments, social meetings etc. A transportation permit is required.
Free transportation permits are available from the following: Southwest Suburban Center on Aging: 111 West Harris Avenue, LaGrange, Il 60525
Transportation Fees: No charge to Senior Township Residents.
Service Boundaries: Service is available within the boundaries of Lyons Township and 2 miles beyond for doctor appointments only.
Senior Transportation Boundaries: North - 39th Street: East Harlem Avenue: South 87th Street: West - County Line Road
RESERVATION PROCEDURE: To reserve a ride, contact 354.0292 or 354.0293 between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm the day before your trip.
Senior Shopping Days
Special Shopping days where you can go to the grocery store of your choice. You may go grocery shopping only one day a week. This is to give everyone a chance to shop for their groceries. You are allowed only 3 bags/parcels.
North of the canal: Tuesday or Thursday
South of the canal: Wednesday or Friday
On these days, the drivers are permitted to help you on the bus with your groceries and bring them in as far as the curb.
